✦ Governance & Corporate Law

LLB + CS: Understand and Shape How Businesses Are Legally Run

For students who enjoy rules, structure and reasoned argument — this path builds expertise in law and corporate governance, ideal for compliance, contracts, and the legal architecture behind how organisations operate.

What Is CS (Company Secretary)?

Company Secretary (CS), regulated by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), is the professional responsible for a company's legal compliance, corporate governance and board-level administration. Paired with an LLB, it builds deep expertise in both the legal reasoning behind business rules and the practical job of keeping a company compliant with them.

Before You Commit: A Reality Check

Company Secretary pass rates have historically sat in the 15–25% range, and LLB itself typically takes 3 years (after a degree) or 5 years (integrated, straight after Class 12). Together this is a genuine multi-year path best planned with someone who understands both the legal and CS routes well.

Common Questions Students Ask

Why doesn't Brainery offer LLB + CS directly?
Our coaching strength is built around commerce and accounting-linked professional courses — CA, CMA and ACCA alongside B.Com/BBA/MBA. LLB + CS sits closer to dedicated law schools and ICSI-focused institutes, so we'd rather point you to the right specialists than offer a half-built version ourselves.
Is CS a good back-up if I'm not sure about law?
CS and LLB reinforce each other but aren't identical — CS alone (without LLB) is also a complete, respected qualification on its own for corporate governance roles, so you don't necessarily need to commit to both at once.
Can Brainery still help even though this isn't a course you teach?
Yes — book a free counselling session and we'll help you think through whether this path genuinely fits you (using your Career Compass results) and point you towards institutes that specialise in it.
